There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all 6th grade students who are attending the Toronto trip today at 2:00 p.m. in the Media Center.    You MUST attend this very important meeting!

NJHS Community Service Opportunities:

Vandenberg Field Day – Help out at Vandenberg for the day on Friday, June 5. Busses will eave Pierce around 9:00 a.m. and return by 2:30. If you’d like to help out you must get a permission slip from Ms. Hofer and return it ASAP to room 14E.

Rouge River Rescue Day: Saturday, June 6. Help in the ongoing effort to clean up the Rouge River. See Ms. Hofer to get a map and permission slip, room 14E.

NJHS: The induction ceremony will take place in the Pierce cafeteria tonight Monday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m.  All NJHS members are required to report to the choir room by 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18. If you have any questions, see Ms. Hofer

Attention all students:  There is a BOGO Book Fair in the media center from Thursday May 14th until Thursday May 21st .  Everything is buy one get one free.

Attention 6th and 7th grade girls interested in trying out for cheerleading….  Tryouts practice will be held and Monday June 1st- Friday June 5th  from 3:20 until 4:30.   You must attend all days.  Please wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes.

In order to tryout, you must have a current physical form on file in the front office. If you don’t have a physical on file you need to ask your parents to take you for a physical so that you will have it by the first day of tryouts Monday June 1st.

All forms that will need to be filled out by your parents will be given out the first day of try-outs.  A Sign up sheet will be outside the Front office, and if you have any questions please see Ms. Douglas.  Thank and see you at tryouts.

Attention 8th grade ladies:  If you are interested in trying out for cheer at Thurston for next fall, please come to the cheer meeting on Thursday at Pierce from 3:15-4:00.  You can get a jump start at learning the material for tryouts and you can have all of your questions answered.  Tryouts will be held Tuesday, May 26 -Thursday, May 28 from 3:30-5 at Thurston.  Please sign up at the front office window to ride the bus to tryouts.

Attention all track and field athletes: Make sure you check outside Ms. Mirto’s room, 16 D, to see if you are going to the championship meet on Wednesday.  If your name is on the list, make sure you are at practice today at 3:20.
